Ghana Awards Ceremony Created to Celebrate Living Legends

The Ghana Legends Awards has been officially launched, according to graphic.com.gh. The event is designed to recognize and celebrate living figures whose achievements have left a lasting mark on the country.

The launch was reported by graphic.com.gh on Saturday, September 5, 2026. The awards program is specifically focused on honoring individuals who are still alive, distinguishing it from posthumous tributes common in other ceremonies.

The initiative aims to shine a spotlight on contributions across various fields, though the report does not specify which sectors will be covered. By focusing on living icons, the organizers appear to want to give recognition while the honorees can still experience it.

The announcement comes amid a broader trend in Ghana of formalizing public appreciation for cultural and national figures. The awards could serve as a platform to highlight role models for younger generations.
